Parts of a plant

 Plants make their own food. They have roots, a stem and leaves.

The roots grow underground. They have two functions:

• To hold the plant in the ground.
• To absorb the water and minerals the plant needs.

The stem grows above the ground, it:

• Holds the plant un and support its leaves.
• Transports water and minerals from the roots to leaves.

The leaves grow from the stem. They make the food for the plant by a process called photosynthesis.

 Las plantas hacen su propia comida. Tienen raíces, tallos y hojas.

Las raíces crecen bajo tierra. Tienen dos funciones:

    Sostener la planta en el suelo.
    Para absorber el agua y los minerales que necesita la planta.

El tallo crece por encima del suelo, que:

    Sostiene la planta y sostiene sus hojas.
    Transporta agua y minerales de las raíces a las hojas.

Las hojas: crecen desde el tallo, donde producen alimento (fotosíntesis)
